Paris and Madagascar
Since I had to fly to Paris to change planes, I spent a few days to sight-see before flying down to Madagascar. I had a good time in Paris so much to see.
Madagascar has the wildlife but that is it. Oh, they do have the best vanilla ice cream in the world. But, it is a poor country. According to the World Bank, more than 76 percent of Malagasys live in extreme poverty, subsisting on less than $2 a day. The United Nations Human Development Index which measures education, health and economic performance ranks Madagascar 161st out of 189 countries. According to the UN Children's Fund( UNICEF), nearly 50% of the children under the age of five are affected by malnutrition which makes Madagascar the fifth worst affected country in the world. Less than eight percent of the population are active internet users. that comes out to be about two million people.
