2023 Flower Blooms
I took a quick trip to see the flowers as the news media is giving a lot of publicity.
First spot is Shell Creek road which is known to locals for good wildflowers. This road is located in between Santa Margarita and Carrizo Plains.
Second spot is Carrizo Plains National Monument. Very good place if you get there at the right time.
Third spot is Gorman Hills. Unfortunately, the late snowfall killed off the flowers.
Forth spot is Antelope Valley. I was disappointed as I saw little CA Poppies. I am not sure where the news people got their shots but not here. If you look at Antelop Valley Poppy Reserve live cam, you see almost nothing. Why? late snowfall killed off most of the CA Poppies.
