Fat Fin the Orca, again

I went out again but this time- sunny, clear skies so I had blue water. It seems that I shot the first gallery in black&white and this one in color. Fat Fin-the killer whale is still out there.

There was a tense moment where Fat Fin was in direct collision course with two Humpbacks. the two high tailed out of the area ; they do not call killer whales for nothing. But, Fat Fin was by himself so he was not a threat to the whales.

  • Now, this is interesting! Do you know what you looking at??? That is Fat Fin swimming on his side!<br />
I have heard about the Orcas doing this tactic at the Valdez Pen in order to avoid detection because their huge dorsal fins are a dead giveaway. So, this is how an Orca can sneak up to a prey without showing off the dorsal fin- pretty smart!!!
