Elephant Island

After going through a Force 10 storm, we arrived at Elephant Island with very calm weather. So calm, the trip leader decided to make a landing which was followed by a huge roar of the passengers. Elephant Island is part of the South Shetland Islands. This island was made famous by Ernest Shackleton and his crew. They came over after their ship, the Endurance was crushed. They made camp at Point Wild which is the exact same place where we made our landing. It was a special feeling knowing that these men were in here.
