  • Linyanti is the only tented camp which is at ground level. One morning, I woke up early and got dressed. I heard branches snapping outside. So, I decided to investigate. I was standing on the porch and saw an adult elephant eating the leaves. I, either cleared my throat or made some other noise but the elephant heard me. He turned his head towards me, raised this ears and charged. At the beginning of the safari, the guide mentioned that if an elephant charges you, do not run- stand still. I stood there saying don't run. I actually froze. The elephant stopped about fifteen feet from me, lowered his ears and turned away. I never been so scared in my life. No, this is not the same elephant.
